206 Zulu 9th Anniversary

9th Anniversary of 206 ZULU
February 15-17, 2013

206 Zulu would like to call upon all Hip Hoppers, fans, writers, thinkers, educators, leaders, young people, elders, artists, and all within our region to gather this coming President’s Day weekend, February 15-17 for the 9th Anniversary of 206 Zulu / Hip Hop Summit.

206 Zulu, the Seattle chapter of the Universal Zulu Nation, is a grassroots Hip Hop and community service organization that uses the artistic elements of Hip Hop culture as a platform for unity, education, and positive social change. Since it’s inception, 206 Zulu has reached unparalleled heights with programming, events, festivals, educational-oriented classes, workshops, multimedia and more.

The annual celebration will be held at the historic Washington Hall in the Central District. It will feature a range of attractions including live music and entertainment, First ever NW Hip Hop Museum, 3-on-3 b-boy/girl competition for $900, discussion forums and more. The guests of honor are DJ’s 9th Wonder & A.C. The Program Director.

9th Wonder is a Grammy Award Winning Producer, DJ, College Lecturer, and Social Activist. He, along with Phonte Colerman and Thomas Jones (Rapper Big Pooh), formed the hip-hop trio Little Brother in 1998. 9th was then tapped to produce a track on Jay-Z’s “Black Album”, which became his first major label placement. 9th believes in the preservation of Black Music throughout all its divisions (jazz, gospel, funk, soul, afrobeat, hip-hop), and its connections to music enthnocology and the African diaspora. 9th Wonder is also a member of the Universal Zulu Nation.

A.C. The Program Director is the founder of HipHopPhilosophy.com Radio, a unique online radio station that has been actively running since 2005 from the Los Angeles area. A.C. and his personally selected Djs play rare tunes, stringently abiding by the rules to never play the same song twice. Providing fresh new music to loyal listeners world-wide, has garnered A.C. the respect of Hip Hoppers that appreciate his dedication and loyalty to the culture.

The extravaganza begins Friday February 15th, join us during this momentous occasion!
