Luminary West Coast Group Freestyle Fellowship Receives Grammy Nomination For Best Historical Album

The pioneering West Coast Hip Hop collective Freestyle Fellowship has received a 2022 Grammy Nomination for Best Historical Album for their debut album “To Whom It May Concern…” which was released in 1991 and remixed by Cut Chemist in 2021.

The group, consisting of members Aceyalone, Myka9, P.E.A.C.E., and Self Jupiter revolutionized Hip Hop with their unique free-form staccato-like improvisational flow that drew from jazz and spoken word influences.

The Grammy Award for Best Historical Album has been presented since 1979 and recognizes achievements in audio restoration. Other nominees in this category include Blondie, Glenn Gould, Doc Watson and Wilco.
