SLP began in 1997 as a collaboration between Silas Blak, previously of the group Blind Council and Jace Ecaj from the group 4th Party. The duo group was introduced to the PNW on the historic compilation 14 Fathoms Deep and in 2001 would release their classic debut album, Soul Liquor.
