206 Zulu receives a STAR Award, as part of the PDX Hip Hop Week festivities that culminated on Sunday, August 23rd. Other recipients of the Legends category include E40, Braille, Michelle Burch, Ayatollah, Vitamin D and Kun Luv.
Founded in 2015, Portland Hip Hop Week (expanded from Hip Hop Day) was created to address concerns and conflicts between the city’s vibrant Hip Hop scene and various agencies. This cultural celebration aims to unite divided communities through the powerful platform of Hip Hop. The collaboration between the city and the Hip Hop community has led to successful annual events that highlight the richness of Hip Hop culture. In 2018, Hip Hop Day evolved into a week-long celebration of Hip Hop events, running from August 20th to August 26th.
