Join Annabel Quintero for Mambo 2 Hip Hop. Explore the vignettes of creative geniuses that resisted cultural domination and political systems that attempted to exclude Black & Brown art. The lecture and workshop is a cultural journey for you to enjoy, filled with different music genres and dance moves. Experience the mélange of culture that brought expression and joy to those who were living in the burning Bronx and birthed a new art movement called Hip Hop. Quintero’s immersive lecture & workshop invites participants to embody salsa rhythms and breakdancing fundamentals, bridging generations with each step.
Quintero is passionate about preserving Black & Indigenous history. She teaches Mambo 2 Hip Hop history and dance to dive into the rich tapestry of Afro-Indigenous-Latino artist experiences from the 1900s to 1970s.
